The designer of Dalton calculator was Hubert Hopkins. The machine was introduced in 1902. The company was incorporated into Burroughs Corporation (see Burroughs).  The early calculators were a mechanical wonder. They consisted of 2000-3000 thousand parts. Only a few hundred were produced yearly.
