Underwood Elliott Fischer Co., USA

Underwood Sundstrand calculator has its roots in Sweden. In the 1880 the Sundstrand family emigrated to USA and established a machine tool business. David Sundstrand invented in 1911 an adding machine with a ten-key-two-row keyboard. This became the standard keyboard for calculators.  In 1927 David and his brother Oscar sold the rights to Underwood Elliott-Fischer Co.  David died in 1930 but Oscar continued developing adding machines for Underwood until 1949.
