The predecessor of “Gundka Werke” was in the year 1919 founded toy factory ”Spielwarenfabrik Greppert & Kelch”. In 1920 the company became “Gundka Werke”. Paul Muchajer designed the typewriter, which was introduced in 1920. The company employed about 500 workers. Over 80 000 of this inexpensive typewriter were produced. The typewriter was made under several names: Frolio, Scripta, Perlita, Gepro. With small changes the different FROLIO models are identical. Production of typewriters ceased in 1927. The company continued producing toys until the 1960s.
